The same link in a different location is a different link.

 

The place within a newsletter or email marketing campaign that a link appears, can be crucial for click-through.  Additionally, the final destination of the link, can also be crucial for the overall conversion success of any email marketing effort.

 

For this reason, you should:

  • experiment with link placement within your newsletter or email marketing campaign.

 

Segment your list or, if you are unable to segment, use consecutive issues to vary the placement of standar links.  Then, monitor your click-through rates closely to determine if one link works better than another, and the position of the link that performs the best.
